transfur case lube ?

Question transfur case lube ?

hi

checked my transfur case lube today and it was not pretty . 98 12 v 4x4 auto

dark and looked /smelled like trans fluid ?

what lube belongs in there ?

what is everyone using ?

what size is the drain plug thread so i can get a magnetic one / took a 10 mm allen to remove /install it .

I used Dex III, took about 2.5qts.

My owners manual says to use dexron III.

The owners manual on my 1997 states that for a NV 241, it should be 6.5 pints of ATF+2 or Dexron III. The service interval is every 30,000 miles.

I used ATF +4. It took 3 1/2 quarts for me (manual said 4, but it wouldn't fill anymore even with the t-case level. I've got the 241 DHD.
