95, 3500 5 speed, I get a clunking noise that sounds like a u-joint failing. This can be with or without load, and is not predictable. I've checked the u joints and don't think the sound is coming from them. Is it possible the chain is slipping? What should I look for?<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Bill ???

 

Check the 4 bolts in the yoke that holds front driveshaft to T-case. They can come loose.<br><br> : Eddie : 8)

 

The Bolts are tight, the carrier bearing seems sloppy, could that cause the noise? I raised the truck and tried forward and reverse, reverse seems to clunk the most.<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Bill
