trans repairs?
trans repairs?
Anyone wanna estimate what Im gonna have to pay to get my 95 4x4 on the road again? 5th gear fell off last night. Logistically I dont have time to do it anytime soon myself. The trans was completly rebulit at 98K and a new clutch installed also.
Crazy, no signs, no nothing, just walla, the rpms climb up and no go.

Apache,
My 5th gear nut backed off on a recent trip to and from Florida, between huricanes, to rescue our daughter. My nephew in Chattanooga recommended a local shop - Bilingsley Auto - who did the repairs for about $320. My Ram is a 97 2500 4x4 5-speed, so they had to pull the transfercase in order to get to the overdrive case on the back of the tranny case where the 5th gear is located. If yours is a 2x4 this step wouldn't be required, so it should cost less. Hope that helps.
