Tranny cooler lines.

No, I don’t want a Bud Lite. Anyone know what kind of fittings are in the trans and the air to air for the cooler lines on a 93? Lines seem to be NLA, and I can’t repair mine. They’re rusted and leaking catastrophically. I’m just going to make new ones with hydraulic hose at work.

Check RockAuto - it looks like they currently have one cooler line from two suppliers. I'm not up on the lines for the 1st gen trucks or the differences between W and D models, so you need to see what they have. If you have a 47RH, the threads in the case ports are probably 1/4" NPT - that's what they are on my 47RE, and the 47RH is very similar in a lot of respects (assuming you have the 47RH).

not the ones I need. I looked at those. They go to coolant cooler to trans. I need trans to air to air. I’m going to just make hydraulic lines to replace them. Can’t even TIG they’re so rusty.

Hydraulic hoses seem to be a fairly popular replacement for the metal lines. About a year ago, one of my metal lines rubbed through (2nd time this has happened). I got replacement metal lines and converted from quick-connect fittings to flare. Even after a lot of effort getting some of the flare fittings to start, one flare connection still leaks ever so slightly. I got a kit of "push lock" ("field attachable") hoses from a "reputable vendor" and will be installing that when I can make time (I've already done some of the hose/fittings assembly). I'll probably add some anti-abrasion cover on the hoses.

I’ll use JIC ends and NPT ti JIC nipples likely. JIC seal well and are low torque
