Tranny adjustment?

So, I have an ATS stage 4 trans, and it is fine. Except that it doesn't downshift on its own until I'm almost completely stopped. Like well under 5 MPH before it kicks down.
Is there an adjustment? Is this normal? What's up?

Thanks,
Chad

That is normal. In this regard, it functions the same as the stock transmission. You can force a downshift by moving the shift lever.

Sounds pretty normal, but you can check your TV cable and make sure it is adjusted properly. If its too loose it may cause the issue, but will change upshift points when adjusted also. Another thing which I'm not 100% positive of is the resistor or potentiometer which people put in to fool the computer into thinking the line pressure is lower than what it is or at least back to stock levels. If you don't have one, I think it may delay downshifts, but it may only be to keep the PCM from putting it into limp and 2nd or 3rd gear start, but Like I said I'm not positive. I need to look into the reststor/potentiometer thing for my truck also.
