tranny ?
I believe my converter is or has gone south. It slams hard sometime when going into lock-up. And it seems to be slipping around 2000 rpms. the tranny still seems to shift well and acts totally normal around town. Can I just put in a better converter a be good? No money for a DTT anytime soon. So I need some help to make it hold up for a while. The trans was rebuilt in january, it has a shift kit and heavy duty bands and clutches. It still shifts hard like it did when I got it done. Any ideas on what I should do? I already changed the fluid and filter it had a bit of debris.

Judging by the thread that I was just reading (https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...threadid=37559)
it sounds like your TPS is a good deal out of adjustment. Is the 2-3 the hard shift?

What type of converter was installed with the rebuild? Was it a good high performance unit? With your mods, you will need a stout one. Another good, relatively simple mod is a gadget that goes on the side of the trans, and increases throttle pressure when the trans goes into lockup, which boosts lockup pressure substantially. One is made by BD and is called the Pressureloc. I have installed several of these and they work well. They also make a decent torque converter. Check out www.bd-power.com
