Trackbar/ steering gearbox question
Trackbar/ steering gearbox question
I just ordered a Luke's Link for my trackbar, about an 1/8" of play when I pry on it. My steering gearbox is leaking and the pitman arm to tie rod joint is a little loose. I am having shaking and play in my steering. Will just the LL on the trackbar fix it for now or do I have to do both? I'm ok with a little play for now, just not the shaking truck.
It seems with the 2nd and 3rd gen dodge truck, they both have major issue's with the steering gear box. They are two totally diff boxes, and have two diff issue's. on the 2nd gen, its a bearing that wears out, and needs replaced with a bushing to tighten it up, alot of the 3rd gens come from factory with poor tolorences. I own both and had to replace boxes in both truck's. There is a company in Washington that makes a great gear box. RedHead Steering. i put one on my 3rd gen and its a huge improvement. So i know they make good boxes. on my 2nd gen i put a Columbus Steer and Gear box on it. They are out of Columbus OH. They make a good box as well but only for the 2nd gen!!
