Timming Cover Leaking!

Alright so my timming cover appears to be leaking, not enough to drip on the ground, but enough to get the underside of the truck pretty ugly.
I know the correct solution is to remove the cover and replace the gasket but let's say I don't really have the time to invest in doing all that just yet. Would it be worth it to get under there and clean around the bottom of the cover where it's leaking and put a bead of RTV around it? At least could it hold off the leak until I order the gasket and do it right?
Also my vaccum pump appears to be the source of another leak, is that really that hard to get to? It looks to be burried in there a good ways.
277k miles I need to get these little items fixed so the old girl will stop showing her age.

try just tightening all the 10mm bolts that hold it on (all you can reach anyway) it should prolong the gasket fix for awhile, you may find some of them are pretty loose, these engines have alot of vibration, & the bolts tend to loosen up over time, give this a try first may help ya out, Dusty

Hope it's just a gasket leak & not a crack in the cover do to the KDP falling out.
