Throttle and engine issues.. ??
My throttle was sticking in a high idle around 1000 rpm in drive.. So I cleaned, lubed the linkages and installed an extra return spring. That's fixed but I discovered other issues. I noticed the past week the truck has been lacking power but thought it was the linkage binding but whats happening is...when I hit the go pedal... it will pull the front TPS linkage 50% before it starts to push the linkage rod and let the fuel in. Another issue I found in playing with the linkage is when free revving... it'll rev to about 2200 rpm and start to sputter bad and dump white smoke... Anyone got any ideas?

I know you had said you lubed the linkages etc., but I would try putting on a whole new throttle cable. I know that my 1996 had a recall on the throttle cable and that can cause problems.

Check here if your truck has had the recall done, you will need your VIN
Dodge Recalls
The recall replaces the linkages and any other parts that may be broken.

On the other issue... I did the ole' spring trick to the overflow valve... The factory spring had alot of wear on it so I plan to replace the whole thing eventually but the spring trick seemed to have made a HUGE difference but it's not 100%. I'm wondering about the injectors...

Problems are fixed !! HOLY COW.. Spring trick to the overflow cured the stutter and white smoke, free revs pretty quick right up to around 2900! blows a nice puff of smoke if I stab the pedal in neutral and get's 2 psi of boost!, the whole truck torques over like a race car when revved! never did any of that before! Much more smoke under hard acceleration ! I am going to get a new valve to put on at some point. I can't believe the difference that little bugger made!
Now the throttle linkage...What was happening was , the return springs were too heavy and overcoming the TPS spring. The return spring tension has to be just right...
Everything is good for now, Thanks!

Be careful stretching the spring without a fuel pressure gauge.
Too much pressure, 45 psi plus, can blow out internal injection pump seals ($$$) and even crack your fuel filter open.
