It's been a while since I was here. Sold "old" 96_12V and now have the truck listed below. Noted the temperature gauge is holding around 190F + up to close to 210 when fully warmed up but also unloaded. Certainly not normal for a 12 Valve.

Question is, should I simply R & R the thermostat with a new OEM unit? Any other recommendations while in there? I picked this truck up from the original owners (who are now in their early 80's) and I really doubt they had even noticed this condition.

 

hi , just went through my truck running hot at times , replaced it with a stant and engine ran too cold sooooo i removed the wide rubber band from bottom of the original that had came loose and logded in the opening and reinstalled it an now workes perfectly agin !
not shore whar the rubber band is soppose to do but it apperently is not needed ?
