TDC timing pin came out.... options?

Hey Guys,

Yesterday I finally got the time to tab my KDP and bump my pump timing. All went well except the TDC timing pin came out in my hand along with the retaining washer.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to get the washer back in the hole. Anybody else dealt with this? I just pushed the plastic pin back in by itself (not too far!), but I don't want it to wobble out.

Is there an aftermarket solution to this? If not, any suggestions on getting it back in without some serious disassembly? I'm tempted to just take it out and put a plug in its place.

Thanks,

Clark

Use a deep well socket and a small hammer. The socket acts like a driver and will stay straight in the bore if it is the right size. Use some grease to stick the washer to the socket. You may also have to bend the tabs on the washer a little. Congrats on doing the work yourself - it was more than I wanted to try.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try the grease. I couldn't hold the washer, socket and tap it in all at the same time
