TC mystery switch issues
SO I spent the time yesterday to wire uup a toggle witch for the TC yesterday in my 94, & ran into some problems. First off I used a reg lighted toggle that has the 3 leads on it; 12v+, grd, & one for the device. Switch lighted up all the time, then a few times would go out when 'off'. The switch seemed to work upside down from the diagram; I'd turn it off to lock up the converter. So I turned the switch upside down in the holder & went from there. Replaced the ground with a better location right off the battery, shared with one of my gauges. Do I need a separate ground for everything?
Also, when I tried it this morning, it didn't work at all, then pulling into a parking lot it locked up & worked. I unplugged everything, & now my tranny takes a hair linger to lock up on its own with OD off in town, but when I get on it in town it won't stay locked up. GRRRR!
Any ideas? Wondering if the toggle wasn't strong enough current-wise, or maybe shouldn't use a 3 blade switch, or what. I hope I didn't hurt anything....
