T-Case leak question

I noticed a leak at one spot on my T-case as shown in the attached photo. If that area is cleaned spotless is there any sealant I can apply to the outside of the joint that can fix or slow the leak? If I have to remove transfer case and get it resealed I will do that if necessary. Just a bummer as the other areas of the case are completely dry with no leaks.

That looks like where the transfer case bolts to the transmission? If that is directly where the fluid is coming from, the transfer case has to come out the change the seal. I think there would be two to deal with, input seal on t-case and output seal on trans, both fairly easy to do.

Yes, that is the correct location and you are spot on. I called a shop that rebuilt 2 transmissions for me years ago and they said exactly what you said. It may be easy for some but it is a bit more than I am willing to take on. The complete job is 350 to 400 to have them do it. There is quite a bit of trans fluid spayed on the undercarriage. Not sure when it started to leak as I was on a 16 hour drive and did not see any leaks when I stopped for fuel. I will check the Tcase and trans fluid tomorrow to see which one shows low on fluid.

Ha well ya it's easy to do when the transfer case is down. Not alot of fun to get it out though.
