Syntorq with miles on it
What does Syntorq look like after it has been used for 30-50K miles? I bought my truck about 6 or 7K miles ago and had a chance to change all the fluids today. When I drained the trans it was very new looking fluid. It pained me to think I was draining good ($$$) oil that may be reasonably fresh. Oh well, now I know for sure. I am curious to hear how it looks after some use though.

in a perfect world, it would stay clean, but bearing and syncro wear will darken it a good bit over time. Sounds like you dumped some fresh stuf Like you said though, now you know

That stuff is good for at least 100k. I did mine at 140k just to do it and the fluid looked almost idenitial to the new stuff in the bottle. Not sure how many miles on the truck you have but it is some good stuff. Didn't shift a whole lot better either. But then again I do have DD clutch.

My truck has right at 200k on it. I actually put the drain bolt back in after I saw how clean it was when it started to drain out. Then I figured, I have the new fluid, I might as well change it to be sure.
Fresh oil in the engine, trans, and rear axle. Two new axle seals and some GM wheel cylinders, front suspension inspection, and a tire rotation. I should be good to go for a while.

Dodge says the fluid is good for life if you don't tow.
Don't know if I'd trust that.
All depends on driving habits. If the truck gets most of it's miles in 5th gear on the interstate the fluid should last much longer than a tranny stuck in rush hour twice a day.
