swapping 12v injectors

I have an old truck that has a few injectors leaking externally so i decided to just swap in a fresh set of injectors. Im sure its not a very difficult swap, but id like instructions since this is my first time doing this. does anyone have a write up about this?

thanks, luke

No but I can make one, not much to it.
Make sure the bore area is very clean.

Completely remove the injector lines and small return line from both ends.
You'll see what other things are in the way and have to be removed.
Don't bend the line at all.
Slip a 1-3/8" long piece of 3/4" PVC or steel pipe over the injector then screw down a lug nut you you borrowed from the front wheel to the top of the injector. Stack washers on the short pipe if necessary.
Often the injector will pop right out just by screwing the nut down with your hand. If you have to use a wrench it will feel like you're barely doing anything to pop the injector out.

Good to use an injector bore brush to clean the bore.
Fine round wire brush will do too.
Make sure the old washer is removed and the seat is clean metal.

Lightly coat the bore part of the new injector with anti-seize.
Use new washers that came with your injectors.
Make sure the locater ball on the injector is in the right place.
Torque to 44 ft/lbs.

Reinstall all lines loosely then tighten only the small return.
Use new copper washers with the return line
Now tighten the pump end of the high pressure lines.
Crank the engine over till fuel appears at the injectors.
Tighten down the lines. Sorry I don't know the torque, I just get them tight.
Start engine, it will run rough for a few seconds.
Check for leaks.

This kit has what you need if your new injectors didn't come with everything http://www.usdieselparts.com/moreinf...on_Kit_%286%29

A 1/2" pvc coupling works good also. Cheaper than buying a 10' length of pipe

Sometimes a coupling or tee will work if you don't have pipe.
Seems like different manufacturers have different fitting lengths.
Take a tape measure to the store and you'll find one that's close enough.

I still had to cut the coupling down to size. I was just saying that its cheaper than having to buy a whole 10' piece of pipe.
