Stuck plunger
Why would a P-pump get stuck and kill the engine after 50,000 miles driving it everyday?!
opened the afc, and found the rack is stuck, brought it to a shop near me, and got told, one plunger is all screwed up and is stuck in the barrel!
What would have caused that? its a 913 pump
At least it had not a runaway (there was a stranger on the wheel)
like it happened before with another pump! Cuz cummins turns high rpm's when the regulator doesnt regulate)

there are a lot things to lock up a plunger
bad dirty fuel & ultra low sulfer
if the shop is good and will rebuild your pump it could be over $1000 to rebuild. I build bosch 7100s and have been doing so for 15+ years if I can be of help let me know. an exchange could be as low as $750-900
What ever you do DO NOT buy from diesel care & performance of memphis tn
they are just cleaning up cores and selling as rebuilt. they are an ebay scam
selling all kinds for pumps that fail soon after install.
Good luck

Thanks for the info! Its very good to know!
I sent another pump to a shop over here in mexico, (a guy who said he studied diesel mech in usa)
He cleaned the one plunger that got locked up real bad, and the rack traveled freely back and forth! But got locked up after testdriving it about half mile! Thank God it was a 5speed to kill the engine, cuz it got stock Wideopen!.
Now the pump we where talkin about, i sent it to another shop who can take the P7100 pump apart, he is taking an element from another 913 pump and will put it into this pump, and we'll see today if it works.
The used element (plunger and barrel) costs $100 and shop charges me just under $100 for the job!
