i just bought this truck, it is stuck in 5th. anyone have some quick ideas on what i need to do. the shifter does move around so i am sure something is out of wack. it runs like a top and the best thing of all it has 119k on the ticker. leather seats,over head temp and compass, 5 speed so the 215 pump is all good. plus i think it looks great behind my dually, sort of like it's little brother.

i pulled the shifter last night and tried to pry it out of 5th, no go. i had to get the truck off the trailer myself so i let it back with the winch with it in 5th gear. it took a little bit of help from me pushing but when i got the truck down it popped out of 5th. i was talking it over with a buddie of mine and he thinks the 5th gear nut may be backing off and causing it to jam[rolling the truck backwards in gear may have been what freed it]. the more i think about it he may be right. i lost one of the trailer wheels [lugs sheared, real weird]last night about 10 miles from home. so i had to get the truck off to get the trailer home 3 legged. i went back and drove the new one home with no problems at all shifts like a champ. pretty sure it has a banks plate in it, it was hitting 32 lbs of boost and running nice. already had the gauges in it.
