My truck has an intermittent problem with the throttle not wanting to return to proper idle. Sometimes it will stick at 1,000RPMs, others at 1500RPMs, even as high as 2,000-2,200RPMs and so on. I can usually give the accelerator a good tap and the idle drops to normal. I checked the return springs on the throttle itself and found the rear one was broken. But even after fixing it, the idle issue persist. I read elsewhere that this symptom may indicate that the injection pump needs to be rebuilt. Please tell me that this isn't so with only 185,000 miles on the truck. What else could it be?
