steering problems

steering problems

my friend has a 97 dodge diesel with a 5spd...in mint shape, orignal owner with 80,xxxKM on it and he is haveing steering problems..he replaced the box, pump and a few other things...but it dosent seem to help..the problem is when he turns a corner the wheel dosent return to center..what could cause this problem?? thanks

the adjustment on the steering gear may be too tight.

it's an allen set screw with a jam nut on the top of the steering gear (box).

loosen it up a little.

Either the alignment/toe in is WAY out , or the steering box Over center adjustment is too tight:
