Star Wheel Question

Tell me if this is possible......

I have always had my plate and AFC housing Full forward........

I just adjusted the star wheel and played with that.....Now my fuel mileage went UP..

I kinda figured it would go down with more fuleing. It did make a litl diff in how it ran but made a noticeable difee in my mileage. Anyone else have this happen?

The only effect the star wheel has is at lower rpm, if you do a lot of stop and go your mileage will go down. If your miles are mostly hiway there will be no effect.

maybe the extra fueling is helping the turbo spool faster at lower rpms, less drag, more efficient use of fuel?

Honestly couldnt tell you....I havent jumped on the gauges first thing....i have a replacement 12 V in the barn so I'm not worried about it. Its been this way with the exception of the starwheel since 2001. I figured if i was gonna melt a piston or 2 it wouldve happened by now.
I do tow with it and go back and forth to Texas through a few passes - never had any probs.

To each there own. Personally i don't drive the truck the hard. It runs smooth and runs good. I dont down shift and dont have to put my foot into it nears as much as when it was stock.

I got to thinkin today bout this whole issue......this motor in my truck now only has 20K on it. It was replaced at 94K and now I'm sitting at 115K. Could it be finally breaking in? I've been really good with this motor as far as oil changes and what not. I use Delo 15-40 a ggod filter and LUCAS oil additive. I wonder if that additive didnt hinder the breaking in process? Anyone got any inputs?

PS. Smokin it aint just and engine its a whole ext. cab (totaled) 12V 4x4 3500......that was loaded......
