Exclamation Stalling p7100. No power HELP!!!!

Ok Here it goes My buddy has a 97 12v. we've been running bio b100 that we make since april. Last week he went anout a mile and it got weak and shut down no power. I changed the ff and re primed the ole boy. Ran good went out went home etc. He parked it overnight went to work in the am 12 miles. Left work and it died about 200 feet out the gate. He said it idled for ten minutes prior to leaving work. I met him there pulled the filter, it was clean. Reinstalled pumped the plunger on the lift pump 50-60 times cranked it up and it ran and then went limp again. No power/rpms and died. There is a noticeable hard spot on his pedal when you move it. We got it running again and it died again. Pulled the filter cranked her over to see how much fuel was getting to the filter, it gets plenty. A nice steady "**** stream". What is wrong here??? It gets fuel to the filter and has plenty of pressure? It squirts when you put your rubber glove At the inlet to plug it. Also I don't know if it makes a difference but his primer pump is a hell of a lot easier to move than mine. I have a 95 with vacuum brakes unlike his hydro boost. So mine is hard to get to. The filter that I changed was a mess ...Aka horrible. What can I check before he goes and buys a new injector pump??? And what else do you guys know. And one last thing is there a check valve or relief valve someplace I can check asap?

There is an overflow valve that controls pressure to the injection pump , you should get a gauge hooked up to check the fuel pressure from the Lift pump , about 20-26 at idle & 28-36 2,000 RPM no load .
There maybe an issue with the truck , or the fuel , drain some of the fuel into a glass jar and let sit for a day or so , see if there is any settling [ different layers ] , bio can separate for some time after making , which goes onto the bio issue , knowing weather your making good bio or not ?

Just a guess, but I suspect a air leak somewhere. It seems that the problem occurs after the truck has been sitting for a while. As mentioned above a good place to start would be to check fuel pressure.

Tie the fuel shut-off lever in the run position(zip tie) and see what it does. Its quick, easy and rules out the shut-off solenoid.

To check fuel pressure
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...41&postcount=9

I would also check the prefilter

The Members here are giving you good advice on replacing that overflow valve. FWIW,..... some of the 12 valve engines do not respond well to B-100!
That stuff goes in and cleans out everything in the fuel lines etc. and you have probably got a plugged or dirty OV now. I would tell your friend to back to straight #2.

OK sofar some good info. thank you all. I'm heading up there to check things out. We'll see he has a new pump for in the tank already. He's a nut but w/ever I just do what I can. I'll see and for now we'll keep running B100. Can't afford the #2. And hate the arabs anyway.

If your getting quality bio & the temps do not cause an issue , the B-100 is the best fuel , especially now that its cleaned out .
You may want to blend with #2 for the colder temps ?
What kind of temps do you get on average in your winters .

I recommend running b50 through the winter season.
