Low power and stalling
Low power and stalling
I am posting this for my brother. He has a 1992 D250 club cab auto trans with overdrive 3.54 rear gear. He came to a stoplite last night when it turned green he went to go and had low power and could not go over 25 mph. He put it in nuteral and it died, then he coasted to a stop. Then tried to start it 4 times and would not start. He opened the hood and could not see anything wrong in the dark. The truck started on the next try, and it ran rough for about 10 seconds, then smoothed out. It has run normal from that point on. He is going to change the feul filter today. If anyone has an idea what the problem is please post.
Thanks,
Paul
Thanks,
Paul
Holsteinman;
The fuel filter 1st is a good idea. There are 2 wires connected to the fuel shut down solenoid on the backside (firewall side) of the inj. pump. Check to make sure they are tight if not replace the spade connectors and wrap them w/ elect. tape or insulate them w/ heat shrink. That's probably where you'll find the problem.
Keep us posted, please & Have Great day.
