Stalling in gear
When the engine is not runnin, the pump will offer resistance. Start the engine and feel the difference. If the throttle linkage does not move freely with the engine runnin, then you have an issue with the internals of the pump. Check , like has been said, the spacers where the rod goes into the pump. They could be worn and be in need of replacement. Don't check the linkage without the engine runnin. You'll think the pump is bad.

There is quite a bit of resistance in the throttle linkage as noted, and it does go away when the engine is running. All that seems normal.
What spacers are you referring to where the rod goes into the pump? Im not seeing any mention of that....
