spring that holds throttle back popped off!?????

so today i got my truck goin again after installing a sb3250dd and man it feels solid...though i know i need the upgraded hydralics cuz i have to match revs perfectly to shift. anyway i was seeing how she felt when it seemed my truck started to run away!!! i stopped got out and looked under the hood found nothing wrong started it and it revved to 2000rpm so after looking for awhile my friend found that a spring popped loose that holds the throttle. once it was back on i was fine. has this happened to any one else and should i be concerned?????

just my opinion here but if that spring gave up on ya it will only be a matter of time before it happens again. i'd be looking for another one to replace it.

yea i am going to get new springs today. does it matter if they are harder or not? and did your trucks suck the throttle back without the springs too?

mines popped off before. the more stiffer the springs are the more stiffer the go pedal is gonna be. my buddy was freaked out when he drove my truck one day because mine was alot more touchy than his pedal, i was used to it however

and yes i took of the spring one day just to see what it did when i was in a parking lot. the throttle would get stuck and i had a run away truck. i pushed the clutch in and the rpms still stayed the same, i cant remember i think it was 2000. i just turn the truck off and put it back on
