Spare Transmission Storage?
Spare Transmission Storage?
Hey Fellers
I panicked and bought another tranny the first time mine slipped a few times. It hasn't done it again in 9 months. I changed the fluid and it stopped. So my question is: Is there anything in particular I need to do to store this spare tranny I have? Right now there is no fluid in it because it was shipped to me that way. I have it in my pole barn and am wondering if I should put some fluid in it? Would that do any good as there is no way to circulate the fluid? I'm a little worried about moisture. Here in Illinois pole barns don't protect much from moisture casued by temperature changes. It's pretty common for metal to sweat out there. Maybe I should just move it to the basement. Any thought?
