Is the South Bend any good?

I just bought a South Bend Double-Disk with the 3850 pressure plate and the 12 ceramic button disks, I was wondering if it will be any good for sled pulling? I think it should for 2400$, but i just wanted to see if anyone out there has the same thing and find out whether or not it is any good?

A South Bend Clutch is with out a doubt one of the finest products you can buy for your truck at ANY price. Add in the years of experience and knowledge Peter brings to the table and their GREAT customer service, it is no surprise that they are the Industry Leader in performance clutches.

My advice should you actually have any questions about your new clutch is to call Peter at South Bend Clutch and be very honest with him in regard to how you want that truck to perform.

He will make sure that you and that clutch are the perfect match for the goals you are trying to reach. Thousands of satisfied South Bend Clutch customers would never run anything else, simply because Peter stands behind his products like no other.

This is not a paid infomercial, just my honest opinion formed from talking to so many happy South Bend Clutch customers over the years. Peter has a terrific reputation, and he got it the old fashioned way......He EARNED it!

If you have ANY doubts or questions, give him a call at 1-800-988-4345

LOL. That's the kind of question I would have been asking BEFORE dropping $2400 on a clutch,

It just depends on the exact clutch you have some are setup for that and some aren't.

yeah i will agree their customer satisfaction is great , it holds good for now i just wanted to see if anyone on here has the same clutch and see how it performed as far as sled pulling. it has the 3850 pressure plate and the disks are the 12-ceramic buttons per side and the input shaft.

I will never go with anything but a Southbend. I just layed down 566hp and 1119tq on an OFE! It slips a little on the street though. But it has by far exceeded my expectations. He has an awesome product and awesome customer service.

I love my Southbend FE. The only think I don't like though is that I did not jump straight to a DD

My FE has treated me well up until the twins went on then it could only take so much, but I blame my driving habits for that, not the clutch.

South Bend is a good clutch from everything I have heard and are supposed to have great service. I have never heard of a single problem with the clutch or the service provided. I decided on the other hand to go with ValAir. Dan has treated me A+ and is a real cool guy to talk to on the phone, he will answer every question you have with a strait-up answer. IMO Dan and his clutches are comming from the background and making a good reputation for themselves. I AM buying my next clutch from him and getting it built to hold 750-800HP because my goal for my truck is 600+ with sledpulling. Again this is just IMHO...

South Bend has the best customer service I've ever delt with. And with my bad luck with products I deal with alot of customer service However I still think its the best clutch out there. I dont pull but I did have a 3850. I think the website lists the 12cb model of that plate load for "heavy sled pulling"

yea I ordered my clutch from valair and he was really helpful and pretty much walked me through how to install it right. I probably would have gone with a southbend if I had alittle more cash, they'll be by next clutch for sure, but the Valair seems good to though.

I jus got off the phone with Peter at Southbend ordering a clutch/master and he had a lot of good info about our truck, so either way is a good choice.

I have been on the boards for around 8 years and Peter at South Bend has always been on the top with both product and service. All I knew is that when clutch time came, I only made one call!!! Like already posted, if you are intending to sled pull or just beat on it, tell Peter that. Its the only way to get the right clutch for your application.
