I have a 215 pump. I am pretty sure 98 12 valves stick and maybe autos all had 215's but i am not sure on that i may be wrong. I think most of all the 12 valves are good canidites like i said i have a 215 pump, but a set of delivery valves on a 175 pump or whatever they are exactly will bring you right up to speed with some injectors. I think it is just as easy to look on the engine data plate it will tell you what it is . ie 215, 175 ect. , but like i said i think the mojority of the 94 to 98 12 valves were pretty good canidites. Just my .02$

215 is the hp rating of the fuel pump, don't know if you knew that's what all the numbers were about.
From what I know 96-98 sticks all had the 215hp pump. The 98 quad cab, shortbed, manual is considered the "holy grail" of the 12v. If you want the extra cab space and a short bed and the 215hp pump that is the only year to get them. 96-98 autos are all 180hp pumps. If you are in doubt of the pump on the truck your looking at ask around on the site. The 215hp pumps all start with a certain combo of letters and numbers, and the 180hp pumps are different. Someone on here knows for sure.
Feel free to correct my on any of this guys, this is all info I picked up reading other posts on this site.

No, I never really hear anyone having problems with fuel pressure in the 12 valves. The p7100 pump is great. Besides i think a normal 12 valve holds like 30 psi as opposed to 12 psi in a 24 valve.

Fuel Pressure: 18-24 psi at idle, 28-36 at 2000 rpm with no load.

Not really, if it isn't noticeable. However you can make your own manometer pretty cheap. Probably less than $20-30.

Can't recall if it was here, or over on the TDR. Someone gave instructions on how to make one, and the measurements to figure out how much blow-by there is. I t was fairly recent, too. I'll try and dig it up for you, if you like.

There is always a litle bit, even with a new engine.
