Shortbed ideas

Guys, I have whats leftover of a parted out98 quadcab 4x4 12-valve, automatic, shortbox I have been selling parts off of this for awhile and do not have a whole lot left! but what I was wondering, is the frame is striaght, not bent, box is good, is a quad cab-cab bolt up the same as a extended cab? I am thinking 1 of 2 things, 1. take my cab and front clip, axles, engine, tranny, and everything else and swap it to this frame with the short box{MINE IS A LONG BOX} 2. try to find someone to buy what I have left, which is a frame, fuel tank, box, guted cab with no doors, but has the dash, rear slider window, and also have rear axle d70withLS is anybody intersed in thes parts? is this a dumb Idea for me to want to convert? I like my long box for haulin, but I love the looks of a shortbox!, I am thinking probably sell the stuff! just wanted to get some opinions! I wish I would have kept everything on it, but the guy who had it before was the one who started to part out, I would have love d to make a puller out of it!

Shawn there might be a joint in the frame where they put them together. If there is the front stubs could be the same and you could change rear stubs to get the shortbed. It could be a riveted or a welded joint.I have clipped frames before to change lengths or make them narrower for tucked tires. It's not to bad of a job with the right equipment.

Gary, I was just thinking about that very idea! I talked to a couple guys today and they said it wouldn't be very hard. I am still undecided if I want to go shorbox yet!, have to paint the box and the frame work = too much work for me right now! I might just sell the stuff and keep it a long box! I got my air ride and my trac barsI want to put in too before pulling season starts!

Hey Doodah:
If yur askin if the 4 cab mounts are the same distance between an xcab and a QC they are identical. I pulled the steps off my 02 and they bolted right up to my 97 PERFECT.....the holes lined right up. Surprised the heck outta me. Hear ya on the longbox though. Too bad the shortbox cant get a bit excited and grow into a longbox when ya need it.

a short bed won't pull as well as a long bed, wheel base helps.
