Shifter mounted OD switch in a 95?

Is it possible to get it to work if I take the shifter and wiring from a newer truck? Looking to put some gauges in place of the cupholder and OD switch in the dash if possible.

Maybe you could relocate it to the Overhead console?

Or just order an A-pillar gauge setup?

Don't see why it wouldn't work.
The OD switch is just momentary contact, you'll have to rig up a light though and most likely a relay to power it.

It can be done, the 1st gen guys have done it. Poke around down there, I know I read an article on it a few months ago, maybe not that long ago. I think it was pretty simple too.

Thanks, I searched it and found immediately. Just need to figure out the indicator so that I know when overdrive is off.

If the column switch is the same as the dash wiring wise their are two sets of contacts, one set for the od that switches a ground signal while the other set switches positive for the light.
The dash switch also has another set of contacts for the indicator light that's connected to the headlight dimmer circuit.
The column switch won't have this extra set.
