Shift-on-the-fly speed limit?

I can't find my owners manual or even my shop manual to answer this, so, here it goes. At what speed is the limit for shifting into 4 wheel drive in the truck in my sig? Also, since this is the first truck I've owned that has a manual transmission I figure I should ask this too...should I push the clutch in while I put it in 4 wheel drive(while moving)? My last Ram had an auto trans and all I did was let off the gas, pull the shifter to engage 4wd, then get back on the gas. I guessing its the same proceedure for the nv4500, just want to make sure. Thanks!

I think my manual said to engage no higher than 55mph.

I can tell you that it will engage at speeds up to 110mph.

I read somewhere that 55 mph was the max shift on fly speed

Thanks for the info! I figure with the snow finally falling here it would be good to know. All summer I've only had to shift into 4wd from a stop and it was more of a precautionary measure since I was backing up to a drop-off on loose dirt sloped toward the drop to dump debris...I wanted to make sure I could pull out. Thanks again!

Hercules I always put the clutch in to shift into 4 HI. And let of the gas pedal a little when shifting.... Should go into 4 wheel nice and smooth.... A lot of time I will even slow down to make the shift even easier...
