shaking in front end
shaking in front end
Hey guys and gals
My 96 ram has a vibration from 63MPH till 70MPH then goes away. I have replaced all the front end parts ball joints, tie rods, sway bar endlinks, sway bar bushings, bearings, rotors and brakes. I can only think that it is a unbalanced tire. what do you guys think? I replaced all this stuff about a year ago and all is still in good shape. the vibration started about a month ago!
Thanks
Eric

had a similar experience with used tires. would shake bad between 55-70 mph, but it would come and go on the road at a constant speed. so if i was doing 60 it would slowly come on till it was a bad shake then slowy go away to nothing. kinda cycling. had them balanced 3 times and everyone said it was good. finally one shop did a runout on the tire (free) and found that the tire was .070 out of round iirc. so it would balance but still roll like an egg. my idea with the coming and going is that it somehow over a number of revolutions lined up with the unbalance of the other tires and counteracted it. anyways, replaced the tires with more used tires and the problem was gone.
