The local diesel guy put a "kit" in it, and charged $800 labor, and said he could not see anything wrong with it... They also checked the injectors, at 350,000km, they were still OK..

But it has a nice coat of gloss black on it!!!!

The truck would run sometimes and would stall sometimes and had an awful knock sometimes... We replaced the lift pump and all the fuel lines right from the inside of the tank to the IP... The knock was only occasional, and not rpm related.. and was as loud as a someone hitting the valve cover with a ball peen..

Its back together and runs fine so far, the truck only gets occasional use, so not able to tell for sure if that was the problem... Kind of a bummer when the repair guy tells you it looks fine, then slaps you with a $1500 bill....

 

u have a p-pump on ur 99? You could have bought a hot pump for less than that.

 

Sorry, the Injection pump is off my brothers 94, 2x4, 5speed, reg cab.
