running gear...

about a week ago or 350 miles i had all new u-joints installed, except the driveline from the x-case to the front axle. i did all the work myself except having the u-joints pressed and carrier bearing replaced. i installed all new wheel bearing races, wheel bearings, seals, and one spindle. after driving around im still noticing a sort of grinding feeling but mostly on right hand turns going uphill, so it kind of tweaks the frame a little im guessing. could it just simply be bad u-joints in that drive shaft or a ring and pinion situation.

i checked those u-joints already and they felt good but the previous owner ran it in 4x4 all the time. (i dont think he knew it was engaged) it did some damage but already fixed. any input helps i just want to make sure i have a safe ride down the highway. thanks david!

Did you mark the driveline, trans case and differential so the u-joints went back in the same place?
If not the driveline could be out of phase. Wouldn't really call the result a grinding sound, more of a vibration.
