Red thread locker on case bolts? Is it wise?

After reading through the below thread it makes one think twice about using red thread locker on case bolts. This is especially the case considering the 10mm size of them. Not to mention that most never expect to have to pull any of those bolts in the future, but who knows. I recall thinking that thread locker blue seems more appropriate. Lets here your thoughts.

Others disagree, but I HIGHLY recommend using blue. If you are freaked out, clean both very well with Loctite cleaner, and then use Loctite primer before adding the blue.

Me? I just hit it well with brake cleaner, blow it out/off, and lay the blue to her.

My opinion is the bolts don't come loose from the bolts turning but rather from the soft aluminum under the bolt heads smashing, vibrating and wearing down.
That's why it's important to have the two dowel pins keeping the case in place.
With that reasoning even green thread locker would be adequate.

IMO, lock it down. Threads are in the steel block, not the aluminum case. If the aluminum wears down, fine, but the bolt will not come out and go through the gears. Your link was about a guy that didn't immediately torque the bolt, and that gave the locktite time to set up. Put it on there and torque it.

How many cases have there been with a bolt coming out and going though the gears?
I personally haven't come across any but have dealt with a couple dozen dowel pin damaged cases.
Never found a bolt that was more than a couple turns loose also.

All the motors I have tabbed I spent the extra time to remove , clean and loctite the case bolts behind the gears ... just have to rotate the motor around and there pretty easy to get to .
All of the ones I did were loose and give some piece of mind knowing the job was done complete .

I don't know how many there has been. I know at least one. My uncle had a first gen that did it. They pulled the engine to fix it, he junked the truck, and made a pump power unit with the engine.

Funny, I don't know of anyone personally that has had a kdp come out, nor has any of the mechanics that I have talked to in this area.

Maybe some extremely cold temps have an effect?
