realistic power expectaions??
This has probably been beat to death but here goes...
I used to have a 2006 CTD Megacab and was unfortunately forced to get rid of it due to hard times. I am looking to replace it with a 12V I would like to mod it. What are realistic power levels achievable with pump mods, BHAF, exhaust mods etc. stock turbo cooler etc I would like to see the 325HP 610TQ my 06 had is this feasible? What would accomplish this? Or what power levels cold be expected with minor tweaks? Thanks for your time

If you get a truck with a 215 pump, a plate and GSK will give you that much power at the wheels and more torque than your '06 had. Intake and exhaust will help with temps, but aren't overly neccesary.

I agree, 325hp is very easy to achieve with a 12 valve for under a couple hundred bucks. Most expensive item would be gauges.
But if you're towing a larger free flowing exhaust and perhaps turbo housing may be needed to keep egts down.

you will notice the torque difference from the 06 right away with those mods, i would suggest at least a high flow air filter and exhaustwith any pump/ plate mods to keep the temps down and everything balanced and flowing smooth! you looking for an auto or 5 speed?

with the right set-up it would be better (more) with the same HP range, i have a 5 speed with a 0 plate on it and i love it! thats ust enough power that you might need to think about an upgraded clutch too!

FWIW, last summer I dynoed 334hp and 1075ish torque. Dynoed this year with a turbo upgrade and did 440 and 1125. So I'd say the torque change will be for the better when going to the 12v.

0 plate, 3k governor springs, F1 370 injectors, and 15 degrees timing. That was the first dyno. Last set was with a 62mm turbo. With more timing, it should boost those numbers quite a bit.

Turbo and injectors would be the next logical step. Either order. I drove for 6 months on 140ish injectors with the stock turbo with no issues. Was a real fun truck then, just ran out of steam on the top end.

The one comment I will put in is even at a similar power level to Tate, the feel is a little delayed once you have driven an electronic injected truck. The throttle response of the 24V CR engine is more definite than with my 12V. But once the fuel starts coming on, its no comparison.

BUT, don't forget that with 325hp and gobs more TQ you are going to smoke either the auto tranny or clutch in no time. Took me less than 3 months with a 100 plate, GSK, intake and exhaust. Set aside a good chunk of change for that repair...

not hard at all to get a 12v to keep up with a stock CR. I was keeping up with them many mods ago, now im running circles around them lol, but serioulsy,
Ground plate=$0 I don't even have a plate at the moment (tuned afc)
GSK=$0-$225 There is a free washer mod
BHAF or Intake $60-$225
Exhaust 4"kit -$300
Guages at least a pyro $150-300ish w/Boost and trans temp
Retroque Headbolts= Just your time
Advace Time=$150ish for shop or ya got tools?
Trans Upgrades=The sky's the limit man is cheaper than auto to build but will always be slower. Alot of 550auto trucks will out run 650man trucks drag racin
Whe I had a #6plate, 4"exhaust, and a lockup swithc and bhaf I was running side by side a few local 06 model trucks
