Im looking at buying a 12v and I found one. The add said it was a 4x4 but when I went to look at it I notice there was no front axle under it. It does have a 4wd lever but on the handle it says: D then there is a line going down to a N. I have pictures I'm going to post to. If anyone has a idea please let me know. Thanks!

Hmm, first time I have seen anything like this as well. You say it is not 4X4, but what type of front axle is under it, does it have a-arms out to the spindles like a traditional 2WD or does it have a beam axle with trailing links like the 4WD, just without the traditional Dana 60? They made CC trucks based upon the 4X4 setup and a dummy front axle, they added that lever and a TC for the PTO and nothing else. They do list 2 inserts for the TC lever, 4446918 for a regular 4X4 and 4446919 for PTO, I don't know what it looks like though.

I suppose someone could have special ordered it as a 3/4 ton with the CC type PTO setup............ One thing is for sure, it is an odd duck, perhaps have someone run the VIN at a Dealership, they can tell you exactly how it was built.

 

Yeah I was thinking it is used as pto to. It's just a A-arm with a coil springs. Nothing underneath looks like a 4wd. I went to a dodge dealer today and showed them the pictures and no one could tell me what it was. I will take the VIN number tomorrow and see if they can look it up. A navy guy bought it new and traded it in for a van and he told the dealership that is was a 4x4. That's why they listed it as a 4x4.(not a dodge dealership) lol. Not sure if he was lying or just didn't know.

 

I talk to the dealership today and they said that is a pto gear pump. They still make it a option on today trucks but they are rare to find. They said that truck was ordered with the pto but the customer didn't want the truck so it was sold with a normal box on it. Going to go pick it up tomorrow! thanks guys
