pump in tank

so, I know that there is a pump in the fueltank, and I`m painfully aware that me truck doesn`t always agree when I say "GO".
But it hit me, when I pull off the fuel line at my heatexchanger, and turn the key, fuel should come out, and it doesn`t.
BTW, it`s not the screen in the tank that`s clogged, it`s not there anymore.... something with those things and plantoil just donīt add up.
But the pump????
should it be running, have I killed it..??

Unless someone has changed it, there should be no pump in the tank. The lift pump is on the side of the engine block, driven off a cam lobe. No fuel is moved until the engine cranks over. Not sure what heat exchanger you're referring to.

Thanks Tate
So I haven`t killed anything, that good news, The heatexchanger ( i`m not sure if it is the right word) that I refer to is for heating my fuel, because Iīm running on plantoil.
Plantoil is flows thicker when itīs cold, so you heat it through your heatexchanger, thatīs plugged in the coolingsystem, so you get fuel almost at enginetemperature, and then itīs very similar to diesel, and for me, A LOT cheaper.
Iīll try to get some pics for you, but thatīll have to wait, itīs almost dark here now.

when you said heat exchanger my first thot was the trans cooler under the exh manifold on Auto Trans Trucks. I had thot about putting another one on mine for that specific purpose of heat my WMO/diesel mix in the winter. hot fuel atomizes better than cold fuel.

I for one wouldnīt like to pumping plantoil through the injection when itīs 15* below, you can almost cut it out in cubes.

But I donīt run biodiesel, only plantoil, thatīs why Iīm heating it, biodiesel donīt need heating, but Iīve heard funny stories too, and plantoil is easier to make.

I just installed a AirDog 100 in my 2000 flat bed, nothing special but my wife thinks I love the truck more than her. Anyway my truck was upgraded to a in tank lift pump so I pulled it out, installed a fass draw tube and removed the lift pump and cut the lines near the top of the housing. I replaced to screw on cap with the seal in place and it's leaking. My question is where can I get a new cap seal?
Thanks
