propane

I was wondering if anyone out there was using propane. THe sales pitch on TRUCKS sounded great but I have yet to see or hear anyone using propane.

Re:propane

I used a propane system on my `99 Powerstroke diesel. It really kicks your truck in the *** when it comes on. It's worth a good 100hp if you do it right. I think most of us Cummins guys though try to avoid it so we can pride ourselves for using #2 only to obtain the same power.

Re:propane

I have been using lp for over two years. I sugest using a vapourizer under the hood(this uses the hot antifreeze to insure that the propane boile).I have mine coming on at 10psi of boost. Over all I pick up an extra 8 psi boost at the top end. It really is noticable in the higher RPMs.

jt
Re:propane

Some people warn against using too much propane but I personally couldn't ever get enough of it. I ran bottle pressure from a 20gallon grill tank into the intake pre-turbo. I had my hobbs switch set for 15psi. The truck w/out propane would stop just above 19psi and would hit 35psi with the propane.
