pressure side fuel filter?
pressure side fuel filter?
Anyone run a filter on the pressure side of the lift pump, before the injection pump? Im looking to do this with something that can hold up to the fuel pulses from the stock piston lift pump and not shed junk into the fuel. Cummins used a mesh screen, but Ive seen those tear up over time.
Basically I just want some insurance in case a chunk of fuel line comes loose. Dont want it inside the IP.

I wonder if something like this would fit the bill or is this what you mean by a mesh screen?

yup theres a mesh screen in that. I bought one at a cummins dealer here and it blew through the mesh within a week. Dunno what the deal was with that.
Racor makes a thing that looks like a filter head but its a pancake with a mesh screen inside. I would probably want to filter down to 30micron like the spec for the injection system says.

looking for something to replace it with that can handle fuel rates for 650hp at 50psi. Ive got a remote racor 490r on the pickup side, could use the 120gph filters if I need to later on
