Question Powerwashed truck and engine bay...now "Water in Fuel" light?

I didn't think this could happen by just power washing.

I tried pushing the button on the bottom of the fuel filter so it could drain the water, but the light is still on.

(It's a 95)

Not to worry, they seem to very touchy to exterior moisture. You got water in the connectors off the filter drain when you washed it. I recently rinsed off the top of my battery and the small amount splashing was enough to turn it on for 3 days till it dried. Pull the plug apart and start blowing with compressed air and it will eventually turn off if it bothers you.

A good thing to do is to pull the connector apart and put some dielectric grease (not regular grease) on the terminals and then reconnect it.
