Potentiometer Problems...Help!
So I hooked up the potentiometer in place of the TPS. The first few hours, it worked great. Transmission kicked into OD and the lockup kicked in. Took it for a spin earlier today and it started acting like it did before, with the bad TPS. I took the wiring apart, recrimped all the connections and rigged up a better "plug" and heat shrinked it all together. I know the connections are fine, but I can't think of a reason why the Pot wouldn't work properly...its a pretty basic component...
Do any of you have ideas?? I'm stumped...it's a 5000 ohm linear taper potentiometer, all connections are good, old TPS is still in place (wasn't working previous to my Pot "fix")...Do I need to hook up a manual lockup switch in order for the Pot to work? Do I need to wire a fused power source to the Pot?
Thanks in advance!
