p7100 pump settings

Ive got a truck that was takin to a shop and had the pump messed with. i believe it was adjusted way out of its parameters and it knocks and misses at high rpm's loaded and unloaded. and is now hard to start. I need to find out all of the stock settings so i can fix this screw up.

What lift pump you running? Could be not enough fuel getting to the pump, air in the lines, timing... If the pump stayed on the truck I doubt they could do much more than plate, afc, timing, and maybe turn the barrels. Might have streched the overflow valve spring and put too much stress on your lift pump if its the stocker. There will be a ticking heard from the front driver side wheel well if your stock lift pump is on its way out.

Ask the shop to write down everything they did so you can go back and find out what went wrong.

i didnt hear any ticking or any thing abnormal. the guy dont know where the shop is or number or anything. im just trying to get this thing back running blindfolded. I have thought about air in the lines ive got a sight glass on its way so i can check it while its running. What really gets me is that it doesnt do it all of the time and when it does screw up its when its ran a little while

Check where the timing is at. Where is the idle?

My bet is a dolt who didn't know what he was doing tried adjusting the timing and got it way off.
Have someone who knows what they're doing set it to 15-16.
This isn't stock but will make the engine run better and get better mpgs.

I'm with Bill and Tate, sounds like the timing is way too advanced.

Or, or, or......., You might want to get the timing checked! Just a suggestion.

Fuel pressure is important, too. But I think it would be more of a lack of power than a runs like crap. At least 'till it got way bad.

Need a timing light with pulse adapter, or a timing kit. The former is faster and easier, but more expensive to buy.

Instructions> http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1994/18-10-94a.htm
but you will need about $200 of special tools. For most people it's cheaper to pay someone to do it.

Checked the timing and it is dead on 13.5 degrees I did find a pinched off boost line goin to the pump tho. Possible over boost? im gonna fix that problem and check fuel pressure.
