Oil in vacuum lines?
Changed some of my vacuum lines, and I noticed engine oil coming out of some of the lines. I pulled one line out and was surprised to see about ½ teaspoon of oil come out! Never seen this before. Do I have a bad vacuum pump? Why would this send oil back to the lines? My vacuum brake booster works OK, and the pump is making vacuum.

Check valve
Check to see if your vacuum pump has the check valve installed. More reading here..http://dodgeram.info/tsb/recalls/720.htm

You should replace all the lines that have oil in them. Hopefully you are under the recall, they will add the check valve and replace all the hoses plus warranty them for 7 years.
Oil in the lines will eventually melt hoses, booster, climate control and 4wd switches.

Thanks guys. I looked at the TSB, it does apply to my truck, but according to the description, my truck already had a check valve installed. I guess the only thing I can do is keep an eye on the lines, and watch for more oil. I’ll check the big booster line first.
