Oil Fill Plug leaking
I replaced the old Mopar oil drain plug gasket with a new identical gasket from the Dodge dealer at the same time that I replaced the factory oil drain bolt/plug with a new one from Dodge also.
Can't get it to stop leaking from around the fill hole. I know the correct torque is 40 ft-lbs. I've gone a little tighter and it's still leaking.
What gives?

Possibly, someone sometime has overtightened the drain plug and caved in the pan around the hole. On problem trucks, I have installed an O ring to the drain plug on top of the gasket. That seems to help these situations.

Once the pan is distorted from overtightening the best way to deal with it is to replace the plug with one of the many drain valves available. Then you can clean the area up well and use silicon to make a good seal that you'll never have to break again.
