OD Gremlin

Ok I have no OD and I have replaced the TPS ,OD solenoid and transducer I think that I have the linkages and cable ajusted right and still nothing. Trans seems to shift fine in all the other gears just not into OD. I don't notice any excessive slippage under power and the OD switch will lock up the converter. If the OD switch is controlling the TC does that mean it is ok or could it still be causing OD problems? I did notice last night that the switch was warm to the touch not hot just warm. Could the govenor pressure solenoid be the culprit? Please don't tell me I need to rebuild the tranny, I'd like to just can't do it right now. What do you think.

No takers huh. Well I'm tired of throwing parts at this. I am thinking that the trans temp sender might be the next thing to look at. I remember reading about the resistor fix, will that work on the 47re?

did you check the electricals including the OD temp sender and the wiring involved in the OD off switch on the dash?
Mine was kicking out in cruise and I just did the sender this afternoon, going to see what happens.

I'm having the same problem. From what I've been told it's either the trans temp sensor or the speed sensor. IMO everyone is to quick to blame the TPS.

Im going to look at both the trans temp and the OD dash switch tomorrow. Can the dash switch just be removed out of circuit as a test and back to the resistor for the temp sensor will it work on a 96. Is the speed sensor on the crank pulley?

Well its not the temp sensor. On the 96 the sensor is in the tranny, part of the govenor pressure sensor and I just replaced that. Will look at the dash switch now. Anyone know how to jump that switch?
