NV4500 swap issues
I'm swapping an NP4500 along with my engine into a 4wd roller that had an auto in it.
I've got all the wires hooked up, fuel lines, exactly the way it is on the truck in the street next to it. I plugged in that switch that's attached to the clutch and everything. I'm getting nothing, the buzzer goes on, and all the electrical except the radio and the dash lights (which are now all of the sudden not working) but the starter does absolutely nothing. Sorry if I sound like a retard, I'm just starting to learn about all this stuff. Any ideas??

What did you do with the old neutral safety/reverse light plug? One pin (center I believe) needs to be grounded. The other two get tied to the reverse switch on top of tranny. I left the clutch switch jumper in and grounded the center pin and works fine.

I havn't done anything with the neutral safety/ reverse plug. Now I know exactly what I need to do. Thanks man.
Another question for you guys, so I found a 4x4 5400 out of a 2001 with 60K so I jumped on it. It's missing the shifters for both the tranfer case and the transmission. The top of the transmission looks totally different from my 2wd, so It looks like I need a new shifter and what ever sort of brackets hold it in. Where can I find the both of these?

The t-case shifter on the 94-97 trucks bolted to the side of the tranny. The 98-02 has the shifter attached to the floor of the cab. Getting one for the tranny would probably make the most sense if its an earlier truck you're putting it in.
For the shifter, best start looking in the classifieds and e-bay/kijiji/craigslist/etc. The newer cover has a much better feel than the older style.

It's a 96 truck, so I should go track one down from an earlier truck and that will still bolt right in??
It's not the whole cover, it's just the 4 bolts where the shifter goes in. that are close together, right around where the shifter **** comes out

I can't for the life of me get the pedals out of my old truck. It looks like there held in with C clips, any advice???
Also wondering on issues with making the spedo work on an 02 tranny in a 96 truck.

Pull the driver's seat! That's the only way I could get comfortable enough to get my head under there. Try tapping it out with something small enough to fit in there...I used a pair of pliers and then yanked it out with channel locks. There might be some little wave washers in between the bushings, try not to loose them.
