I am trying to put it in my 93 auto, but if it's different I won't bother. Is the output shaft the same amount of splines? He says it's an HD, I don't know if that means anything. It's out of a 94 3/4 chevy 4X4 Diesel.

call Rockland Standard fear and let themtellyou they are different, 877-774-4327. These guys above may be right but I find it hard to believe that they would have the same tranny but different?

They are different, the Chevy has a lower first gear ratio for sure. The spline counts I'm not sure of, but I think the Chevy has fewer(coarse splined IIRC). The Chevy's never had the 5th gear jam nut problem. As far as strength, they are the same. It's the same components for the most part, so I can't see them being a whole lot weaker.
