Normal tranny temps

Installed my tranny temp sender today, seems slow to move but I couldn't get it above 150. Seemed to stay around 115-130 (ambient temp ~30). What is normal range and what should I see unloaded on a wot 0-60 run?

I doubt you'll see it move much unless you tow or during hot weather in slow traffic when no air is going by the cooler. Hook about 15k to it and tow it up a good hill and you will see it move.

You didn't say where the sender is installed. If it's in the pan your temps will stay low.

It's installed on the front line coming off the the transmission, I used a transender from diesel manor. I had to clean off the line to make sure I got good heat transfer, but I guess I'm a little skeptical now that I have it installed.

I feel the transcender you used would be pretty accurate but maybe a little slow to respond.
Another thing to consider is that when your TC is locked at highway speed very little heat is generated. Mine, with the sender in the hot line, will sit at 90F all day when cruising on the highway.
It's when you're in the lower gears that the temps will climb.

You are most likely fine I used the same style mount for mine in stop n go it will rise to 160-180* then when moving drop back to 100* last week when I pulled my TT it only got to 140* even on a 6% grade but in the summer that same grade saw 180*. Just the outside temp will keep the temps down a lot .

Hook to a trailer and back up a hill. That will make your temp gauge come alive!

Do that for very far & it will read 0* since the tranny will likely melt.

Depends on how many times you jackknife the trailer and have to go forward
