No torque converter lockup

My TC lockup isn't working anymore. I have a manual switch, but it doesn't work with the man. switch or auto switch. When I use manual switch it sometimes kicks in when I am comming to a stop. Could trouble be with throttle positioning switch?
Thanks......

Manual switch should engage the lock-up when on the throttle in 3rd gear or O/D.
If not check the ground and connection point to the harness for corrosion or loose connections. If all good then the L/U solenoid may be bad.

the auto non lockup may be caused by the TPS but the manual switch should work in second gear and above. so i would say check your connections and make sure you have good a good ground to your manual switch and a resistor installed in the switch line if it is an RE unit.

Thanks for all the help....Got it done.
I drilled a hole in the TPS, and sprayed some WD40 in it and then drained it.
I drove the truck and discovered that it was worse then ever; I had also lost overdrive.
I called a friend who has a wrecking yard and has a lot of Dodge diesels, and bought another TSP for 50 bucks, and everything works like a charm.

Glad you got the job done, but what wrecking yard has a LOT of dodge diesels? and where can I find it, most of them up here are lucky to have ever seen one! Cheers.

Give Larry Cavanaugh in Fernley, Nevada a call at 775 815 1212. He's got maybe four right now.
