Racing and Torque converter lockup

I raced my truck for the first time a last weekend and I was talking to some of the other cummins guys and they were running torque conveter lockup switches. They said it wasn't bad for the tranny, is this true? I would like another tenth or two out of the truck and this seems like the way to do it. This is the truck in the sig. and I have the whole bd tranny ..converter etc. By the way it ran 16.11 @80 ;D

Using a lockup switch with a stock tranny for racing is not good. Unless you are trying to burn up the factory TC so you can buy a new tranny.

If you have the whole BD tranny, then you should be safe locking it up.

I like locking at around 30-40mph.
It does help when racing, alot.

I didn't see the BD part.

You should be fine.
